How we handle piano and specialty items
A grand piano weighs up to 500 kg and is surprisingly fragile. Our specialty crew removes the legs and lyre, wraps the body in quilted covers, straps it to a skid board and moves it on its side. Uprights travel upright on a piano dolly with a strapped keyboard lid.
The same crew handles gun safes, slate pool tables, marble tops, aquariums, gym equipment and framed artwork. Pool tables are dismantled, the slate crated and the cloth re-levelled at the new address with a partner technician.
Specialty items travelling interstate are packed into custom crates where needed and loaded against the truck bulkhead so they never carry weight from other items.
